Minas Gerais is the most desired state for housing, according to data from the Housing Trends in Brazil survey, carried out by Loft, in partnership with Offerwise, released this Monday (25).

The survey was carried out between March 9th and 13th, with 3,095 people. Of these, 8.9% want to live in Minas Gerais. The state is second only to Santa Catarina (18.3%) and São Paulo (11.8%).

Rio de Janeiro (8.7%), Rio Grande do Sul (7.5%), Bahia (6.5%), Paraná (6%), Ceará (3.8%), Goiás (3.4%) and Pernambuco (3.1%) close the top 10 of the survey.

Reasons for the change

Among the reasons for moving to another state are the search for a better quality of life for themselves (37.1%) and for their family (34.9%). Furthermore, the climate, cost of living, infrastructure and leisure were also points taken into account by the interviewees.

Other reasons cited were experiencing new experiences and challenges (34.8%), better financial or professional prospects (30%) and local culture (25.2%).

They don’t want to change

Around 38.5% of respondents who live in Paraíba do not wish to leave the state. Next are Espírito Santo (37.50%), Alagoas (32.60%), Rio Grande do Norte (31.10%) and Pará (29%). Pernambuco (27.50%), Bahia (26.80%), Minas Gerais (26.40%), Paraná (26.20%) and Sergipe (25.80%) complete the top 10.
