The Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB) in Belo Horizonte was the most visited museum in Latin America in 2023, according to a ranking by the British magazine The Art Newspaper.
With 1,474,825 visitors, the museum located in Praça da Liberdade, in the Center-South region of BH, is in 41st position among the 100 most visited in the world last year.
The Banco do Brasil Cultural Center in Rio de Janeiro (CCBB-RJ) is in 46th position, with 1,323,034 visitors.

The numbers recorded at CCBB-BH in 2023, however, still represent a 3% drop compared to the total number of visitors registered in 2019 – the last year before the COVID-19 pandemic, which paralyzed the cultural arts scene.
In CCBB-RJ, the drop in 2023 compared to the pre-pandemic period is 49%.
