The leader of the eternal Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, marked the 60s of the last century. In an interview he reveals that he was moved to tears by this Beatles song.

It was 1961 when Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson, Mike Love and Alan Jardine got together and founded the Beach Boys. The band underwent few changes throughout their career. The main change is Brian Wilson’s departure from the stage to focus on producing and writing for the group.

Thus, throughout their more than 50-year career, the Beach Boys produced several iconic hits – “Here Today“, “This Whole World“, “God Only Knows“, “Good Vibrations“, “Don’t Worry Baby“, “ Wouldn’t It Be Nice”, “I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times”, “Til I Die”, “I Get Around”, among many others.

In all released almost 30 studio albumswhich translated into more than 100 million copies worldwide. The 1966 album “Pet Sounds” was the turning point for the band. However only entered the Rock & Roll Wall of Fame in 1988.

On the other side of the Atlantic we find the another great band of the 60s – the Beatles. Composed of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison, the Beatles made waves all over the world. To the two bands had a certain rivalry but with members of both parties recognizing each other’s talent. In that regard Brian Wilson reveals the Beatles song that left him in tears.


A HEALTHY RIVALRY

In an interview with Ronnie Wood, Paul McCartney revealed that he admires the genius of Brian Wilson – “proved to be a truly fantastic composer. I liked chords, harmonies and other things at that time and we ended up having a kind of rivalry. We would release a song, Brian would hear it and make another one.”

He also talks about healthy rivalry – “John and I were always trying to outdo each other. But [Brian] ended up releasing ‘God Only Knows’, which was a killer sound on Pet Sounds. I think it’s a great song, melody, harmonies, words.”

While Brian Wilson talks about a song that
