Find out which track marked BTS’s “most difficult” phase and almost became responsible for the band’s disbandment!

BTS’s career had some ups and downs before finally taking off. So much so that in the group’s documentary “BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star”, the members revealed that a song almost caused the group’s disbandment at the beginning of their career.

In this ocasion, RM revealed that, with the release of the formation’s second EP, ‘Skool Luv Affair’, on February 12, 2014, the group achieved good positions with the track “Boy In Luv” and, with this result, the members wanted to achieve a victory in the awards with the next return that would be made in August of the same year with the first studio album entitled “Dark & Wild”.

With high expectations, the group came under great pressure, and RM says that he felt that the company “would be negatively affected if things didn’t go well”, referring to Big Hit Music (at the time, Big Hit Entertainment), the agency that manages the band’s releases to this day.

With the release of the album, the track “Danger”, chosen as the title track for “Dark & Wild”, became the reason for the collapse of the group and the company. This is because the song, which guided the promotional actions, did not win first place and worse, it left the charts in one day.

“As we plummeted with ‘Danger’ after ‘Boy In Luv’, the company was also suffering from financial difficulties,” Jin revealed.

This is because Big Hit was a small agency at the time, and was not part of the famous “Big 3”, that is, the group formed by reference entertainment companies in the world of k-pop (SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment), meaning that the group’s first launches were carried out under challenging conditions.

At another point in the documentary, J-Hope states that the production, release and promotion phase of ‘Danger’ was “the most difficult” of the members’ lives, since, in addition to all the work in front and behind the cameras, the group still had to deal with the arrival of adulthood and disagreements between members, which, according to Jiminintensified during this period.

With all this happening, in addition to the comparisons that the group suffered with groups of larger agencies, Jin shared that the feelings at the time were not at all positive: “It felt like it was the end for us.”

As much as the phase was conflicting, with the release of ‘The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, pt 1’, BTS achieved the victory they so desired, making V, RM, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope It is Suga the winners of awards such as Music Bank, from KBS and M Countdown, from Mnet, beginning the success that the group enjoys to this day.
