“Everbody” was present on the international LP of “Final Feliz”. The song is part of Madonna’s first album.

“Crazy for You”

Three years later, in 1985, Madonna appeared on the soundtrack of “A Gata Comeu” (Globo), another soap opera written by Ivani Ribeiro. Originally recorded for the film “Em Busca da Vitória”, “Crazy for You” was the song by the couple Alice (Sônia Regina) and Rafael (Eduardo Tornaghi) in the 6 o’clock soap opera.

A problem with the song’s international rights meant “Crazy for You” played in only 9 chapters of the plot. Because of this, the records with the soap opera soundtrack had to be withdrawn from stores, until a second version was released without Madonna’s music.

In the book “Teletema, the History of Popular Music Through Brazilian Teledramaturgy” the issue is explained by authors Vincent Villari and Guilherme Bryan. According to them, Warner Music’s national representatives released “Crazy for You” for the soundtrack of “A Gata Comeu”, but the label’s international representatives were only consulted later and did not allow the use of the song.
