THETheater, film and television actor, Rui Francisco Oliveira Anjos was born on February 15, 1947, in Dongo, Huíla, Angola, and was the brother of actor António Anjos, who died at the age of 58, in January 1995.

Without specifying the cause of death of Rui Anjos, the same source added that the actor died in “a home belonging to the Associação de Socorros da Freguesia da Encarnação, ASFE Saúde, where he had been institutionalized for some time”.

Rui Anjos started in theater in “Morte e vida severina — Auto de Natal pernambucano”, by João Cabral de Melo Neto”, in February 1966, at Casa da Comédia, in Lisbon, according to the Centro de Theater Studies (CET) at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon.

The professional premiere would take place about three months later, on May 5, 1966, at the Teatro Experimental de Cascais (TEC), in “Mar”, a text by Miguel Torga, staged by Carlos Avilez, founder of the company and its artistic director. , premiered with plastic realization by Almada Negreiros, staged at Teatro Gil Vicente.

Mirita Casimiro, Filipe La Féria, Glicina Quartin, Manuel Cavaco and Zita Duarte were actors with whom Rui Anjos appeared in that play, whose cast also included António Feio, in his theater debut, aged 11, Fernanda Coimbra, João Coimbra, João Vasco , Luísa Neto, Marília Costa, Santos Manuel and Serge Farkas, according to the TEC database.

Still in 1966, at TEC, he also acted in “Auto de Mofina Mendes”, by Gil Vicente.

At the Casa da Comédia, in Lisbon, in 1967, he performed plays such as “Os demandistas”, by Racine, in a version by Mário Braga, and “Olho de chalk”, by Tone Brulin. In 1968, she made Samuel Beckett’s “Happy Days” with this company.

In 1989, he was part of the cast of the play “Habeas corpus”, by Alan Bennett, by Teatro Estúdio de Lisboa (TEL). In 1992, she performed “A berlaitada”, in a staging by Carlos Martins, with music by Fernando Guerra, and “As misadventures of a barber”, by Adolfo Simões Müller.

At Companhia Vicentina Teatro de Todos os Tempos (TTT), in 1996, he performed “A passion according to Santo António”, by João Osório de Castro.

Rui Anjos also acted in magazine shows at Teatro Maria Vitória.

In 1974, he participated in the film “Maltese, bourgeoise e a vezis”, directed by Artur Semedo.

On television, works such as “A Grande Viagem do Santa Claus” and “O Professor de Música”, in 1986, “Cobardias” and Histórias de outros tempos” (1988), “Sabbath” and “Ai life” (1989) stand out. ), “Bed, table and washed clothes”, “Legends and facts of the history of Portugal”, “Camilo’s Process” and “The book mouse”, in 1990, and “The altar of the holocausts”, in 1992.

“Soluna”, “Terra Instable” and “La Chunga”, all in 1993, are among the most recent television works in which Rui Anjos has acted.
