Apple may be preparing to increase the capacity of existing iPhone batteries for the future generation of the device. This confirmation was left in recent patents registered by the company, which point to the possibility of changes in the way the battery is located in the devices.
According to the patent, Apple intends to use batteries with right angles, which would allow not only more space inside the device, but also increase the battery capacity and its useful life.
This change, whether applied, could lead to the company’s future devices having higher capacity batteries, which could translate into improvements in terms of autonomy.
These changes can be made without the final size of the battery increasing considerably compared to what currently exists, therefore it will only have advantages for the company.
There are also changes in terms of the connection between the battery and the other components, which are expected to take up less space and allow more energy to pass through.
It should be noted that, for now, all information comes only from the company’s patent, and as such, it is not known whether Apple really intends to integrate it into future devices. Certainly, some tests still need to be carried out before something goes into production.
