CNN Portugal found that the proposal was rejected by 57.7% of employees at the Palmela company

This Wednesday, Autoeuropa workers failed a pre-agreement with the administration that provided, among other points, for a 6.8% salary increase in 2024.

CNN Portugal found that the proposal was rejected by 57.7% of employees at the Palmela company.

The Autoeuropa workers’ committee has already announced that it will return to the negotiating table to try to reach a new agreement.

This pre-agreement provided for a salary increase of a minimum of 100 euros per worker, that is, an increase of 6.8% this year and 2.6% in 2025 and 2026.

Negotiation rounds between the workers’ committee and administration also revealed the possibility of percentage increases in the shift allowance and weekend work and an annual target bonus that could provide, on average, more than 2,500 euros per worker and the award, in 2025, of a single bonus, which should be equivalent to one month’s salary, for the launch of the new T-Roc hybrid model, which will begin production from next year.

The 6.8% salary increase included the 2.1% replacement for past inflation, relative to the previous agreement, which, in practice, means that the increase for this year will be 4.7%.

Unlike usual, the new agreement will be valid for three years which, according to the workers’ committee, safeguards employees in their income and purchasing power in the face of any inflation and economic instability.
