CNN presenter denounces “manipulation” and “bullying” at the television station

Problems began to arise when Brooke Balwin was transferred from Atlanta to New York.

Brooke Baldwin, former CNN presenter, revealed details about the “manipulation” and “intimidation” by the men she had as colleagues, in the months before leaving the television station, after 13 years of work, according to Fox News.

According to the same source, problems began to arise when it was transferred from Atlanta to New York, but the executive producer stayed behind.

“My producer made me feel like I couldn’t do high-impact interviews without him. Or, perhaps, I allowed him to make me feel like I couldn’t do high-impact interviews without him,” he says.

So, for Baldwin everything changed in 2015, when Donald Trump won the election. “Everything changed for me the day in 2015 when Donald Trump came down that escalator,” he says.

In the following years he noticed that he began to fall out of the news lineup and the way news was covered had also changed.

In 2019 he tried to speak to the former president of CNN, Jeff Zucker, to have his producer removed from the team, as had happened with another colleague, but his request was denied. After a few weeks, Baldwin was called into the office again and reported that the former president had threatened her.

“I could give your program to someone in Washington tomorrow, but I won’t… because I believe you are the best broadcaster on this network”, he says.

According to Fox News, Brooke was later taken off the air for two months during the 2020 presidential election and, when she returned to the air, she said that Jeff Zucker had reduced her time on air by half. In January 2021, she began to be forced to leave without any explanation.

“From that moment on, after spending 13 years at CNN, Jeff never spoke to me again,” he wrote. “Not even my former executive producer, who ended up being transferred to another program and then ended up being promoted”, he says.

“It took me almost three years to feel the anger, to embrace the fear and to recognize that in all my silences, in all my abilities, the person who betrayed me most was me,” says Baldwin.
