A Google decided not to wait for the annual I/O event scheduled for May 14th and announced this Tuesday, the 7th, its new affordable cell phone – the Pixel 8a.
It is worth remembering that this is the new member of the Pixel 8 ‘family’, already made up of the standard model and also the top-of-the-range Pro model. In the case of this Pixel 8a, those interested can count on some features that they are already used to seeing on Google devices – especially in the photography department – for a more attractive price.
Let’s look at the specifications: the Pixel 8a is equipped with a 6.1-inch OLED screen with 1,080 x 2,400 resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate; Tensor G3 processor (the same as the other two Pixel 8); 8GB of RAM memory; option between 128GB and 256GB of internal storage; and 4,492mAh battery.
As far as the camera is concerned, those interested in the Pixel 8a can count on a 64MP main sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide angle sensor. The most important thing is in Google’s software, which allows you to take advantage of some features well known to Pixel cell phone users, which not only allows you to remove unwanted elements from a photo, but also reduces background noise in a video, improving the quality in nighttime conditions and also perform other types of editing using Artificial Intelligence.
It is also important to mention that the Pixel 8a will be launched with the latest version of Android and that buyers will be able to count on seven years of updates for the operating system.
The Pixel 8a will be launched in black, beige, blue and mint green with a price starting at 559 euros. The launch is scheduled for June 3rd.
