Benfica and Sporting will meet, on Tuesday, April 2, at Estádio da Luz, in Lisbon, in a game counting for the semi-finals of the Portuguese Cup and, therefore, the Public Security Police (PSP) will mount a security operation, expecting traffic restrictions.

The meeting, considered “high risk”, with a capacity of around 64 thousand people expected, is scheduled for 8:45 pm and the official opening time of the stadium doors to the public is scheduled for 6:45 pm.

In a statement, the PSP highlights that it will begin its action in the morning, “involving the monitoring of parking and car circulation” and warns that there will be “momentary restrictions on car traffic, particularly during the movement of teams and organized groups of fans , especially those considered at risk”.

Momentary traffic restrictions, from 5:30 pm:

Traffic conditions near Estádio da Luz between 3pm and 9pm and at the end of the match:

The PSP also recalls that, according to current legislation, it is a crime to distribute and sell false or irregular ticket tickets, to commit damage to public transport, installations or equipment used by the public, to participate in a fight when traveling to or from sporting spectacle and the unauthorized entry of any person into the competition area (lawn).

The security force also advises traveling to the stadium by public transport, avoiding taking vehicles close to it and traveling in advance, taking the time necessary to carry out the appropriate security procedures.

If using your own vehicles, parking must be done in guarded parking lots designated for this purpose and it is advisable to avoid carrying suitcases and backpacks inside the sports venue.
