The Catalan press reports this Wednesday that Barcelona did not give up on signing Bernardo Silva, a player who was already wanted last season but who ended up renewing another season, until 2026, with Manchester City, with a clause of 58 millions of euros. The newspapers ‘Sport’ and ‘Mundo Deportivo’ guarantee that Deco, Laporta and Xavi (who is still unknown as to whether he remains in charge of the Blaugrana) are in sync and have a strong ally in this endeavor: the player himself. ‘Sport’ writes that Bernardo Silva feels that his time in Manchester is over, and his family, who have been to Barcelona a few times in recent months, also want a change of scenery.
The international midfielder likes the city, has already spoken about the club with his former City teammate, Ilkay Gündogan, as well as with the Portuguese João Félix and João Cancelo, and believes that the time has come to play in Spain.
The same newspaper adds that citizens know that Bernardo Silva’s intention is to leave this summer and that Pep Guardiola made a commitment to the player to let him leave at the end of this season, if that was his wish.
