New Botafogo coach is already gathering fans

Artur Jorge has only played 5 games for Botafogo, but he is already gaining the appreciation of Botafogo’s fans stove. So, when he met a young fan, he made a point of asking the former SC Braga coach not to answer any calls from Cristiano Ronaldo, to which Artur Jorge replied: “I’m not answering!”

In the 2023 season, Luís Castro was coaching Botafogo, but left mid-season to take command of Al Nassr. And this may have happened because Cristiano Ronaldo asked for his compatriot to be signed.

The coach had just completed the best first round of any team in the history of the Brasileirão. He was the isolated leader, with a 13 point advantage over 2nd. Afterwards, he packed his bags for Saudi Arabia, Botafogo would have four more coaches by the end of the year (among them Bruno Lage) and finished the championship in 5th.

Artur Jorge, with two victories in the first three rounds of the Brasileirão, will want to improve the team’s last ranking.
