A no-brainer victory!
Manchester City went to Brighton’s ground to beat 4-0, this Thursday, in a delayed game of the 29th round of the English league. With this result, the «citizens» climbed to second place and are already threatening to dethrone Arsenal from the podium.
Pep Guardiola’s team came out authoritative and completely dominated possession, which they managed patiently to reach the goal. The first appeared in the 17th minute, by Kevin De Bruyne, in an unusual manner.
Phil Foden discovered Kyle Walker on the right, the right-back cleared the cross and the Belgian midfielder appeared in the area to open the scoring with an excellent header.
Foden would increase the advantage, even before the half-hour mark. When taking a free kick, the England international benefited from the deflection in the wall and made it 2-0 (26m).
The «citizens» number 47 would score twice eight minutes later.
Playing against his idol, Roberto de Zerbi wanted his team to remain faithful to the principles of the game, but he took too many risks. Brighton tried to play short inside their own area, came under intense pressure from City and couldn’t handle it.

Until the end, Matheus Nunes was still released to play just over 20 minutes, while Bernardo Silva was substituted at 78. Rúben Dias, on the other hand, did not leave the bench.
With this result, Manchester City takes advantage of Liverpool’s defeat at Goodison Park and overtakes the Reds in the table. Guardiola’s team has 76 points, two more than Jurgen Klopp’s team, which is third. Arsenal leads the Premier League, with 77 points. However, it’s all in the hands of City, who have one less game than their direct opponents.
