Miguel Oliveira once again failed to enter Q2 directly, this time at the Spanish Grand Prix. After a first free practice session in which he always used the same tires, the Portuguese driver crashed during afternoon training and did not go beyond the 19th time.

In the first free practice session, Miguel Oliveira finished in 15th place, opting to always run on the same tires, without seeking to attack faster laps. The Portuguese driver set his best lap in 1:38.049 minutes, finishing 1.419 seconds behind the fastest of the session, Álex Márquez, who set his best lap towards the end with new soft tires at the front and rear.

In the second session of the day, decisive to determine who went directly to Q2, the Portuguese driver was once again unable to do so, finishing in 19th place. In a session with many crashes, Oliveira also had his first of the season, at turn 13 (the same corner where Raúl Fernández had crashed a few minutes earlier), with just over 20 minutes to go, when he was on a fast lap. At the decisive moment, Oliveira did his best lap in 1:37.342 minutes, finishing 1.317 seconds behind Francesco Bagnaia.
