New social bodies take office 10 days after the elections
FC Porto’s new governing bodies, led by president André Villas-Boas, will take office on May 7th.
This means that the new leader of the dragons will take office 10 days after the elections, which Pinto da Costa won with more than 80 percent of the votes.
André Villas-Boas’s ‘forcing’ to bring forward his inauguration as president of FC Porto bore fruit. The president of the Board of the General Assembly, Lourenço Pinto, understood the arguments presented by the winner of the elections and scheduled the ceremony for May 7th, at 12 pm, at Estádio do Dragão.

The date and time of the inauguration of FC Porto’s Governing Bodies elected at last Saturday’s General Assembly is now known.
According to the order signed by the current President of the Board of the General Assembly, André Villas-Boas (Board), António Tavares (General Assembly), Angelino Ferreira (Fiscal and Disciplinary Board) and Fernando Freire de Sousa (Superior Board) will take office at noon next Tuesday, May 7th, at Estádio do Dragão.

“In compliance with the provisions of subparagraph g) of no. inauguration of the Social Bodies elected at the General Electoral Assembly, on the 27th of this month, for the four-year period 2024/2028.

After taking office at the club, the SAD presidency will take over, the procedures for which may also be accelerated, due to the need to ensure a peaceful transition of portfolios. However, even if Lourenço Pinto convenes the Shareholders’ General Meeting the day after the club’s new governing bodies take office, Villas-Boas will only have the reins of SAD, if things go well, on May 29th. Article 377 of the Commercial Companies Code defines 21 days to comply with these legal procedures.
