The Portuguese coach’s team beat Al Ittihad, 2-1

Jorge Jesus’ Al Hilal is in the final of the Saudi Arabian King’s Cup. The Portuguese coach’s team beat Al Ittihad (2-1) in the semi-finals and are waiting for this Wednesday’s duel, between Al Nassr and Al Khaleej, to see who they will face in the big decision.

As for the game, Al Hilal took the lead through Michael (25′), but Milinkovic-Savic’s expulsion at half-time had everything to change the course of the game. With Rúben Neves in midfield, Jorge Jesus’ team frustrated the opponent’s attempts until the 67th minute, when Hamdallah restored equality. Outnumbered, Al Hilal still had the strength to score the winning goal, thanks to Abdulhamid (81′). Highlight for Malcom, who acted as ‘can opener’ and assisted for both goals.

With the Saudi championship well underway – Al Hilal leads with 9 more points and one game less than Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr (80/71) -, the amateur coach’s team thus has the opportunity to reach the treble, after having already won the Super Cup by defeating today’s opponent in the final.
