Known for its large battery, the Galaxy M family may soon receive a new, more affordable member with the Galaxy M35 5G. Samsung’s supposed new entry-level intermediary has just been found in benchmark tests, with the possible first details of the technical sheet revealed, which reinforce the strategy seen in previous generations by bringing strong similarities with the recently launched Galaxy A35.

Published last Friday (15), the test in question was seen in the Geekbench 6 database, belonging to the device with model number SM-M356B — following the logic of the giant’s identification codes, this would be the unprecedented Galaxy M35 5G. The device is equipped with an Exynos 1380 processor (code s5e8835) and 6 GB of RAM, in addition to already running Android 14, possibly running the recent One UI 6.1.

Going by the model number SM-M356B, the Galaxy M35 5G was found on Geekbench 6 with an Exynos 1380 chip, 6 GB of RAM and Android 14 (Image: Reproduction/Geekbench)

Interestingly, the numbers obtained are well below expectations for the platform, reaching 656 points in single-core and 1,967 points in multi-core. In comparison, the Galaxy A54, which has the same chip, scores 1,019 and 2,931 points, respectively, opening advantages of 56% and 50%. Even the Galaxy A35, which also has the Exynos 1380 and would be the basis for the Galaxy M35, obtains better results. With that in mind, it’s likely that Samsung is still working on optimizations, and improvements should be seen by launch.

Other features, such as the screen, battery and cameras, remain a mystery, but we can get an idea of what to expect by looking at the Galaxy A35’s specifications. Launched last Thursday (14), including in Brazil, the basic intermediary of the A line received good upgrades compared to its predecessor, starting precisely with the Exynos 1380 processor, inherited from the Galaxy A54.

Its look has been refined and, despite still using plastic in its construction, there are changes that make the user experience more premium, such as straighter sides with the so-called “Key Island”, a protuberance applied to highlight the buttons. Other than that, we have a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and intense brightness of up to 1,000 nits, triple camera with new 50 MP sensor and 5,000 mAh battery with 25 W recharge.

If it is really based on the A35, the Galaxy M35 5G should maintain most of the technical sheet, changing only the design and the battery, which could reach 6,000 mAh if Samsung intends to adopt plans similar to those of past generations of the M line. Still There is no premiere date, but the announcement could be close, considering the emergence of the first leaks.
