Samsung could make a risky bet with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 by making the device its first foldable cell phone equipped with an Exynos processor, as suggested by the most recent rumors from leakers with a good history of leaks, who curiously had their accounts deleted from social media . The device could also bring some more welcome upgrades to improve the user experience, including incorporating more memory and an external screen with a higher refresh rate.

According to the information, the strategy would be similar to that adopted in the Galaxy S family, with versions with Snapdragon and Exynos, but it is not yet clear whether the division would be made by regions.

This would be the first time that a Samsung proprietary chip would be used in a Samsung foldable — since the first generation, both the Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy Z Fold were launched with a Snapdragon processor worldwide.

If confirmed, the change is a sign of greater confidence on the part of the South Korean giant, which saw more positive results coming from the recent Exynos 2400, a premium solution used in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus.

The component still does not reach the stability and controlled consumption of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but it has delivered notable advances compared to previous generations, which would apparently be enough to make it a viable option for the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

While reception to the processing change may be mixed, there is at least some more good news in the rumor mill. The new generation of Z Flip would adopt an external screen with a higher refresh rate, going from 60 Hz, one of the points criticized in last year’s model, to 120 Hz, offering greater fluidity. Furthermore, the device would increase RAM capacity, aligning itself with the Z Fold and Galaxy S Ultra by going from 8 GB to 12 GB.

Finally, the use of titanium sides is mentioned, but there are controversial rumors, so it might be a good idea to consider this last aspect with some caution. More than that, the accounts responsible for the rumors, @Tech_Reve It is @kro_roe, were removed from the air, in a mysterious way. The reasons are unknown, but the possibility that Samsung acted to prevent further leaks cannot be ruled out.

In any case, it won’t be long before we get to know the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in full — alongside the various variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the long-awaited Galaxy Ring, the compact foldable could be presented in advance in July. We can wait for leaks from other sources until then.
