In addition to making a series of visual adjustments, WhatsApp has also been testing some security features that were inspired by user feedback.

An example of this is the functionality that allows lock conversations with password on all devices logged in to the same account.

The new feature is present in beta version 2.24.8.4 released on the Play Store this weekend. See below that to access blocked conversations you need a password.

As WABetaInfo explains, the user will need to create a password on their main smartphone so that it can be used to protect conversations on all linked devices.

This even includes other smartphones or PCs in the Windows, Mac or Web version.

By implementing chat blocking support on linked devices, users can rest assured that their confidential conversations remain hidden from prying eyes across all platforms and devices, increasing privacy and security.

For now, the improvement is only present in the beta version, but it shouldn’t take long for it to arrive in the stable application through an update.
