The United States House of Representatives banned, on Friday (29), the use of Microsoft Copilot, the company’s artificial intelligence, by Congressional employees. According to Axios, the app was considered by the Office of Cybersecurity to pose a risk to users due to the threat of data leaks.

What do you need to know:

  • Microsoft Copilot was created to make users’ lives easier and consists of an intelligent virtual assistant;
  • Policymakers have been analyzing the potential risks of using artificial intelligence by federal agencies for some time;
  • The main administrative office of the US House of Representatives has not yet officially commented;
  • To Reuters, however, Microsoft explained that it is preparing “a roadmap of AI tools that meet federal government security and compliance requirements”.

  • Integration with applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
