A OpenAI is changing the way the ChatGPT works and announced that it is no longer mandatory to create an account to use your chatbot. However, the company reveals that having an account allows you to maintain some benefits.
“Starting today, you can use ChatGPT instantly, without having to register. We are moving forward with a gradual rollout, with the goal of making AI accessible to anyone curious about its capabilities.”says OpenAI on its blog.
If you don’t create an account, you won’t be able to save or share your chats, use personalized instructions, or other features normally associated with a persistent account. Additionally, OpenAI will use your discussions to improve its artificial intelligence. At least this is the default behavior, although it is possible to disable it in the settings.
On the other hand, you still need to have an account to take advantage of paid features, such as DALL-E 3 to generate images using AI. Finally, OpenAI announces that it has implemented “additional content protections for this experience, such as blocking prompts and generating content from a greater number of categories”.
