The Nintendo Switch 2 always had the main goal of hitting shelves in the summer of 2024, however, for some unknown reasons, we had some rumors pointing to a Nintendo ready to postpone the launch, sometimes because the current Switch OLED still had some potential for sale for Christmas this year, because the Japanese giant was suffering from production difficulties.
Well, no one knows why! However, according to the most recent rumors, Nintendo is not only ready to launch in 2024, but is even producing the OLED version of the new generation console.
Nintendo Switch 2 will even be a reality in 2024!
Therefore, after several rumors that, quite honestly, I always found quite strange, everything indicates that there is a real possibility of a launch in 2024, most likely at the end of summer, so that Nintendo can make the most of Black Friday, and of course, the Christmas.
According to the publication that advances the possibility, despite already being producing two versions of the console, Nintendo had some fear of not being able to produce the necessary quantities by the end of the year.
Therefore, a postponement to March 2025 was on the table, where this difficulty would no longer exist.
But, to try to turn the situation around, Nintendo will opt for a phased launch!
In other words, Nintendo will launch the Nintendo Switch 2 LCD in 2024, and most likely, the Nintendo Switch 2 OLED in March 2025.
This way, there will be consoles for all those who want to invest in the new version in 2024. This is at the same time as giving time to fans of the Nintendo world who prefer the more equipped, and more expensive, Nintendo Switch 2 OLED.
However, the specifications of both consoles will actually be very similar! With both models receiving an NVIDIA Tegra 239 SoC, 12GB of RAM, and fifth-generation Samsung V-NAND storage (1.4 GB/s). What will change is the screen, and of course, the amount of storage available.
The Switch 2 LCD should cost around €400, while the Switch 2 OLED should cost up to €500.
