Threads already has 150 million monthly users

Threads appeared timid and, little by little, gathered users. In fact, Meta’s social network, which came to rival the former Twitter, already has 150 million monthly users.

The numbers were shared by Mark Zuckerberg, the face of Meta, and show very promising growth, which continues “the trajectory I hope to see”. Threads already has 150 million monthly users, an increase of around 20 million new users since February.

As recalled, the application accumulated more than 100 million downloads in the first week, having subsequently recorded a drop. Despite this, growth in the last six months has been more consistent, leading Zuckerberg to speculate that the social network could be Meta's next application with a billion users.

Interestingly, Threads, which emerged to complement Instagram's proposal and to rival X, seems to be outperforming the late Twitter.

According to estimates by the analysis company Apptopia, cited by Business Insider, Threads has more daily users in the United States than X – in turn, it has 550 million daily users around the world.

For now, Threads does not display advertising and, therefore, does not generate profitability for Meta, like Instagram or Facebook. It is not certain, however, that it will always be like this. If growth continues, we may see the arrival of announcements. After all, Zuckerberg has already mentioned that the company will only “focus on monetization” after the social network has grown sufficiently.
