Among the titles that filed the complaint in federal court in New York are The New York Daily News, the Chicago Tribune and the Denver Post.
“We have spent billions of dollars to gather information and break the news in our publications and we cannot allow OpenAI and Microsoft to expand Big Tech’s playbook of stealing our work to build their own business at our expense,” he said. MediaNews Group and Tribune Publishing CEO Frank Pine said in a written statement.
The other participants in the collective complaint are the Mercury News, also part of MediaNews Group, the Denver Post, the Orange County Register, the St. Paul Pioneer-Press, the Orlando Sentinel and the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
