Rafael Gonçalves Elhimas was shot dead inside the convenience store at the Petrobahia gas station, located on Avenida Doutor Joaquim Nabuco, in Varadouro, on February 11, on Carnival Sunday. The location is close to the city’s main festivities.
The police did not reveal whether the detained man was the one caught on the convenience store’s security cameras committing the crime.
The name of those involved was not released by the corporation. In total, there are two arrest warrants and another eight search and seizure warrants, all in the city of Olinda.
The arrests are part of the “Quatro Cantos” operation, launched by the 9th Homicide Police Station in conjunction with the 7th Olinda Sectional Police Station and the 1st Military Police Battalion.
The Civil Police also said that the investigation is ongoing and that “more details will be provided in due course.”

When Rafael turns his back to get products from a shelf, the criminal pulls out a gun that was hidden inside his costume and shoots the businessman several times, who died at the scene. The criminal fled shortly afterwards.
