The soap opera “De Corpo e Alma” (1992) can be released on streaming. The plot, written by Gloria Perez, gained notoriety for the tragic death of her daughter, Daniella Perez (1970-1992), who was part of the cast and was brutally murdered by her co-worker, Guilherme de Pádua (1969-2022).

Since its dark ending, the soap opera, originally broadcast in prime time on Globo, has never been rerun again. But according to the website Heloísa Tolipan, there is a possibility that the plot will be made available on Globoplay.

Globo’s streaming service commented on the supposed decision not to include “De Corpo e Alma” in its catalog, telling the website that “the information that the soap opera will not be part of the collection is not correct.” Ambiguously, the answer may indicate that the soap opera will be reintroduced, but without a defined date so far.

Interestingly, although it was never rerun and was marked by the tragedy behind the scenes, “De Corpo e Alma” was broadcast on the SIC channel in Portugal, due to a contractual agreement between the two broadcasters. Globo was one of the shareholders of the Portuguese network, and the soap opera was also shown in other countries, such as Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Lebanon, Macau, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Guilherme de Pádua killed Daniella on the night of December 28, 1992, after recording the plot, with the complicity of his then wife, Paula Thomaz. He, who later became an evangelical, died on November 6, 2022, in Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais, victim of a heart attack.
