Do you consider that the way we see the role of the father has been changing? What does it mean to be a father in the 21st century?
In some societies there are still gender stereotypes rooted in society that can influence the perception of the role of the father in comparison to that of the mother. Still, I think it has changed a lot. Parents are more involved in their children’s daily activities and there is a more egalitarian and affectionate approach. This is reflected in a deeper understanding of the importance of paternal involvement in children’s well-being and development. However, although there is a growing appreciation of the father’s role in raising children, there are still differences in the way they are perceived compared to mothers. Traditionally, mothers have been associated with emotional care, while fathers are seen as financial providers and authority figures. Even so, there is indeed a growing tendency to recognize the importance of paternal involvement.
