A third man was charged on Thursday with murder after a shooting during a Super Bowl victory party in Kansas City last month ended with one person dead and more than 20 injured, in a fight that began with a mere exchange of glances, prosecutors said.

Terry Young, 20, will be charged with murder, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action for shooting during a disturbance on Feb. 14 near Union Station, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters said. Baker, in a statement. The incident occurred when a crowd of fans gathered to celebrate the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl title victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Local radio host Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan, 43, died. Another 25 people, including nine children, were injured in the melee.

“The victims found themselves in the middle of a shootout after the defendant and other individuals fired weapons in response to a verbal argument,” Baker said.

Six days after the riot, Dominic Miller, 18, and Lyndell Mays, 23, were charged with murder, two counts of armed criminal action and one count of illegal use of a weapon.

Two teenagers were also charged in juvenile court with firearms-related crimes and resisting arrest.

Reports and footage determined that the violence began when Mays and a group of individuals he fought with “began arguing about why they were staring at each other,” police said.
