In addition to Moraes, ministers Cármen Lúcia and Cristiano Zanin also voted for the arrests and other precautionary measures determined in the operation launched this Sunday (24) against those investigated. The votes of ministers Luiz Fux and Flávio Dino are still missing.

The analysis ends at 11:59 pm this Monday, but it is likely that the score will be defined sooner.

Still on Sunday, they were transferred to Brasília and sent to the federal penitentiary in the Federal District.

In addition to the arrests, Moraes’ decision also determined the removal from public duties of delegate Giniton Lages and commissioner Marco Antônio de Barros Pinto. Both worked at the Rio Homicide Police Station at the time of the crime.

Giniton was the delegate who began investigating the case, appointed by the then head of Rio’s Civil Police, Rivaldo Barbosa, who was arrested this Sunday. He is suspected of not only having covered up the crime, but also of having endorsed the murder.
