PF arrests those responsible for the murder of Marielle Franco

“Work done.” After 6 years, the Federal Police arrested the 3 men identified as those responsible for the murders of Marielle Franco and Anderson Gomes. Are they:

• Domingos Brazão, advisor to the RJ Court of Auditors;
• Chiquinho Brazão, federal deputy for RJ;
• Rivaldo Barbosa, former head of the Civil Police.

Why does this matter? In addition to being the main question asked by the left for years and the reason for political accusations from all sides…

…The conclusion of the case shows how the police and the politics worked together in the murder of Marielle, who died fighting the expansion of the militia in RJ.

The case’s own delegate had, in fact, planned the crime, giving instructions to the killers and doing everything to stop the investigations.

Two former PMs had already been arrested for committing the murders. The denunciation of one of them was fundamental in finding out who had ordered them to kill.

• Until today, no person was actually convicted case, and all arrests were preventive.

Government politicians celebrated, and Marielle’s family said it was a “historic day”. On the other side, right-wing politicians criticized the left for accusing Bolsonaro of being involved.
