Residents of Fernando de Noronha who are in their elderly years can participate in the workshop “Quality of life for elderly women”, held by the Island Administration on Wednesday (27), at 9 am, in the Social Sector, at the Family Health Post (PSF ). Entry is free and registration is not necessary.

The workshop features a lecture by psychologist Mitsy Medeiros, as well as representatives from the Women’s Coordination and the District Council for the Elderly.

“We are going to talk about the quality of life of elderly women, focusing on mental health, well-being, healthy behavior, exercise, nutrition and even sex in old age. It will be a conversation circle for reflection”, said Mitsy Medeiros.

According to the organizers, the objective is to offer comprehensive care to the family, carried out nationally by the Social Assistance Reference Center (Cras). The event was designed to strengthen awareness and mobilization actions in society in favor of women in March.

The superintendent of Social Development of the Island Administration, Nayara Leite, stated that the workshop also seeks to prevent the occurrence of situations of vulnerability and social risks. The action is joint with the district’s health sector.
