The mayor of Nova Odessa (SP), Cláudio Schooder, known as Leitinho, was injured and the Deputy Secretary for Development, Eduardo Mota, died this Monday (25) in an accident on Rodovia dos Bandeirantes (SP-348).
The vehicle the two were in, driven by the deputy secretary, ran over a horse that was on the track. In addition to their car, another passenger vehicle and two trucks hit two horses, which also died.
The accident occurred at 9:15 pm near Hortolândia (SP). The victims were returning from an appointment in São Paulo.

Leitinho was taken to the Sumaré State Hospital (HES), where he remained hospitalized until this publication. His health condition is stable, according to city hall.
The city hall reported that, even at the scene of the accident, the mayor was fine and was talking to rescuers.
