A man was arrested red-handed, on Monday night (25/3), for killing four kittens in Recanto das Emas. Security camera footage recorded the moment when the criminal forcefully threw a plastic bag, containing the animals, onto the ground. The animals were devastated and died instantly.
The crime occurred last Sunday (24/3) and is being investigated by the Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF), through the Police Station for the Repression of Crimes of Abuse Against Animals (DRCA). The criminal indicated that the deaths of the cats were caused “because the animals tore up garbage in the region”.

According to Jônatas Silva, chief delegate of DRCA, there were four kittens from a community cat. Their mother used to give birth in the garage of one of the street protectors, but she ended up giving birth on a sofa on the balcony of a studio apartment opposite the perpetrator’s house.
Angry at the situation, the man took the puppies and put them in a bag. He threw the object with the animals into the air and also threw it against the ground. The perpetrator will be held accountable for the crime of ill-treatment.
Ana Paula de Vasconcelos, lawyer at Fórum Animal, commented on the barbaric episode: “We hope that, in the face of such brutality, the criminal will be denounced by the Public Ministry of the Federal District and Territories (MPDFT) and answer for the cruelty committed in accordance with current legislation. A crime that causes revulsion throughout society and deserves a corresponding reprimand.”
