This Tuesday (26) deputy Linda Brasil (PSOL) used the tribune of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Sergipe (Alese) to publicize the arrest of the suspects in the murder of the councilwoman in the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ) which occurred last Sunday (24) by the Federal Police (PF).
“Domingos Brazão, current advisor to the Court of Auditors of the State of Rio de Janeiro (TCE-RJ); Chiquinho Brazão, federal deputy from Rio de Janeiro and brother of Domingos; and Rivaldo Barbosa, former head of the Civil Police – the three are named as “intellectual authors” of the brutal crime that went unanswered for over 6 years. The names of those responsible for the crime were obtained from the plea bargain of former military police officer Ronnie Lessa, suspected of participating in the murder who has been in prison since 2019”, explained deputy Linda Brasil.
The parliamentarian also said that, according to the PF, the exact motivation for the murder is still unknown. “The investigations indicate that there was a relationship with the territorial expansion of the militia in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. Militia that we saw grow over time in Rio and expand its operations to several Brazilian states, unfortunately we saw in the last federal government people linked to this sector being praised and awarded. The Psol remains firm in combating any type of corruption and criminal rigging of state bodies”, emphasized Linda Brasil.
Public Hearing
Yesterday, the public hearing took place on LAW No. 9,284 of 2023, which creates the Sergipe women’s dossier. Organized by the Alese Human Rights Commission, the action was considered an important step in the construction of the consolidation of this law that is so important for the state. “At the initiative of our mandate, we held a public hearing. I would like to thank my colleagues Garibalde, president of the Commission who promptly accepted our request, congresswoman Maisa Mitidieri and also Chico dos Correios who participated in it”, highlighted congresswoman Linda Brasil.
Defense of INSS policyholders
Still during the speech, Linda Brasil expressed solidarity with the male and female servants and the population served by the INSS. On Monday (25), employees of the federal agency held a demonstration highlighting the lack of working conditions in agencies located in the Siqueira neighborhood and on Avenida Ivo do Prado (Centro), in Aracaju.
“There is a lack of chairs for the population and especially the lack of air conditioning in the premises creates discomfort and illness, especially for people who travel from the interior to be treated at the forensic examination. The INSS already serves people who are in a vulnerable situation and who need support and need to resolve this situation urgently. All solidarity with the workers”, concluded deputy Linda Brasil.
