In a second trial, former military man Tamerson Ribeiro Lima de Souza was sentenced, this Wednesday (27), to 24 years and 8 months in prison for the murder of his wife, Natalin Nara Garcia de Freitas Maia.
This sentence represents an increase of one year and four months compared to the previous verdict, when Tamerson received a sentence of 23 years and 4 months in prison in November 2022.
The first trial was not considered ‘feminicide’, so the Public Ministry of Mato Grosso do Sul (MPMS) appealed the sentence so that the crime could be considered a crime against women (status of women), which was accepted.
In this second trial, the Sentencing Council, by a majority vote, found Tamerson guilty of qualified femicide for gross motives, asphyxiation and concealment of a corpse.
CRIME – According to information, Natalin Nara Garcia de Freitas Maia, aged 22, was found dead on the banks of BR-060, at the exit to Sidrolândia, rural area of Campo Grande, in February 2022. The cause of death was a blow of “rear naked choke”.
