Serrana region of Rio has 12 deaths from dengue confirmed by the State Government | Mountain Region

The state of Rio de Janeiro recorded 85 deaths from dengue this year, according to the RJ arbovirus panel, 12 of which in the Serrana region of Rio.

This week, Teresópolis City Hall confirmed two deaths in the city, which occurred in March. A 74-year-old woman, resident of the São Pedro neighborhood, died on the 28th and a 65-year-old man, resident of the Meudon neighborhood, died on the 30th.

Nova Friburgo City Hall also confirmed two deaths, both male, one between 60 and 69 years old and the other between 70 and 79 years old.

In Sumidouro, two women died from dengue fever. To the g1the Department of Health reported that the first was in February, a 69-year-old woman, resident of the urban area, who had comorbidities and had complications from dengue.

The second was in March, a 67-year-old woman, resident of a rural area, had comorbidities and died from cardiorespiratory arrest and severe dengue fever.

The cities of Trajano de Moraes, São José do Vale do Rio Preto and Bom Jardim had one confirmed death in each city.

In Bom Jardim, a person, aged 20 to 30, died in February. According to City Hall, the person had serious comorbidities that ended up worsening the case.

A 38-year-old woman fell victim to the disease in March. According to the Department of Health, she had comorbidities. Upon first admission to the hospital, no serious case was diagnosed, but upon the patient’s return, the clinical condition worsened and she died.

In addition to the confirmed deaths, the Serrana Region still has five cases being investigated, two in Petrópolis, one in Cachoeiras de Macacu, one in Cordeiro and one in Bom Jardim.

To the g1Bom Jardim City Hall did not confirm the death under investigation.

In a note, they explained that the only death investigated was already confirmed and that what may have happened in the system is that the patient was transferred to Rio, according to City Hall. Therefore, as the victim was in two hospitals, there may have been duplication.

Nova Friburgo City Hall claims to have a death being investigated. The case does not yet appear on the state dashboard, but it was confirmed to the g1 in a note by the Municipal Government.
