People snatched the suspects from the patrol cars and attacked them with punches and kicks.

Mexican authorities are investigating the kidnapping and murder of an 8-year-old girl, in Taxco de Alarcón (south), and the death of the alleged perpetrator of the crime, in a lynching.

The Attorney General’s Office of the state of Guerrero, in southern Mexico, said on Thursday it had opened two investigations into the two crimes.

Two men, suspected of the crime, were also beaten by a crowd, angry at the lack of response from the authorities.

The crowd attacked the woman and the two men, after they had been detained by the municipal police, who tried to take the suspects to the prosecutor’s office.

The people pulled the suspects out of the patrol cars to beat the three with punches and kicks, in the presence of the authorities.

Camila Gómez Ortega, 8, was last seen on Wednesday afternoon when she was heading to a friend’s house. Hours later, the family was demanded to pay 250,000 pesos (around 14,000 euros) for their release.

Taxco de Alarcón is known internationally for the procession of Christs, during Maundy Thursday.
