Dand according to indications from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the wind in the Madeira Sea will be from the northwest “good to moderate, sometimes cool at the beginning, gradually turning west/southwest from early in the morning”.

IPMA states that visibility must be “good”.

As for the swell, on the north coast, the waves should be in the order of four meters, gradually decreasing to two to meters, while on the south coast, they will reduce to one meter.

Despite the improvement in weather conditions, the captaincy insists on preventive recommendations for the maritime community and the population in general to take precautions, both when preparing to go to sea and when they are at sea or in coastal areas.

Among the recommendations are the reinforcement of mooring and close surveillance of moored and anchored vessels, avoiding walks near the sea or in areas exposed to sea disturbances and not practicing recreational fishing, especially near cliffs and cliff areas frequently affected by the waves breaking.
