Coach Artur Jorge, from Braga, who is negotiating with Botafogo to take command of the Rio team this week, said that there is already an agreement between the teams and that it is possible that the coach has already played his last game for the Portuguese team. .

“The situation is very clear, I know that there is an agreement between the clubs, so there was this negotiation and that intention to be able to count on my services from Botafogo.”

“At this point, this agreement, being signed between the clubs, will now be analyzed by me so that we can see, since it is what we talked about, which also pleases me, so it will be very likely that today I played my last game for Braga here ”, he added.

This Monday (01), negotiations between Braga and Botafogo regressed due to the Portuguese club’s difficulty in agreeing on the arrival of a replacement at this time, wanting to keep the coach until the end of the current season.

However, in an interview with Canal do Medeiros, in a live broadcast on YouTube, John Textor stated that he did not understand all the repercussions generated by the Portuguese press, as everything had already been agreed with Braga, from Portugal.

“I was going to Lyon, where I would watch their game and ours, on Wednesday, when I ended up learning about everything that came out in the Portuguese press. I spoke to Artur Jorge, when he was still in the final minutes of preparing for the last game for Braga and everything was fine. We have already signed everything with Braga, all amicably, and we paid 3 million euros. I hope they honor the agreement and maintain the good relationship between us and what we have lined up for the future. I can’t understand what’s happening in Portugal,” said Textor.

Having agreed with Botafogo, the coach achieved another positive result ahead of Braga. On Monday afternoon, the Portuguese led the team in a 5-3 defeat of Portimonense, away from home, in the 27th round of the Portuguese Championship.

While the new coach does not arrive, Fabio Matias, who has eight wins and one draw, continues to manage the team on an interim basis. He will be on the edge of the pitch against Junior de Barranquilla, from Colombia, this Wednesday (03), at the Nilton Santos stadium, in a match valid for his debut in the Libertadores da América.
