Europe points to slight gains upon the return of the Easter break. Asia ends mixed

European stock exchanges point to a start of the session with slight gains, with Euro Stoxx 50 futures up 0.1% upon the return of the Easter break.

Investors will be reacting to new economic data (both in the Euro Zone and in the United States), including the PCE indicator, which makes it possible to measure price developments from the perspective of consumption expenditure and which showed a slight decline in February.

In Asia, trading ended mixed, with the Hong Kong index recording its best performance in its first session since Wednesday. Among the main movements, Xiaomi added 9.5%, driven by strong demand for the electric car it launched last week. Only in the first 24 hours did you receive 88,898 orders.

In China, the Hang Seng, in Hong Kong, added 2.14%while the Shanghai Composite lost 0.24%. In Japan, the Nikkei rose 0.09% and the Topix fell 0.25%while in South Korea, Kospi recorded gains of 0.22%.

Despite the rise in Hong Kong, the remaining indices traded with more moderate gains and losses. This is on a day when investors are recalibrating expectations regarding interest rate cuts by central banks, especially the North American Federal Reserve (Fed), which has been one of the major focuses of attention.
