The 2024 awards season has barely ended and we already have the date for the 2025 Golden Globes! Therefore, the ceremony will take place on January 5th, however, the list of nominations will be released later this year on December 9th. In 2024, the event took place on January 7th and its main highlights were “Oppenheimer” and “Poor Creatures”. Above all, both films were critics’ favorites, and even featured prominently in the film industry’s main awards show, the 2024 Oscar. In short, Christopher Nolan’s feature film won the Oscar for Best Director, Best Actor and Best Film. The partnership between Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone earned the actress the Oscar for Best Actress.
In addition to the two major productions, another highlight of the 2024 Golden Globes was Lily Gladstone. The artist’s performance earned her the Best Drama Actress category for “Killers of the Flower Moon”, by Martin Scorsese.
The event was a milestone, considering that she was the first indigenous North American actress to win in the category. In fact, during her speech, Lily stated the following: “This is a historic case. It doesn’t just belong to me. I’m holding it now, holding it with all my beautiful sisters.”
