Portuguese judoka Jorge Fonseca returns to Gold
Jorge Fonseca had his first fight with the judoka R. Shorakhmtov from Uzebskistan, who after a long and difficult match (5’04”) won by ippon.
B. Dosen (SRB) was the next opponent who also eliminated by ippon.
Jorge Fonseca came out victorious in the fight Michael Korrel from the Netherlands who after 6’25” on the mat won by ippon.
In the semi-final, the Portuguese judoka met Jorge Fonseca (AIN) who won by ippon in just 1’28”.
In the final battles Jorge Fonseca had as an opponent S. Elnahas from Canada, who won and won the gold medal.
Patrícia Sampaio achieved an honorable 7th place
Patricia Sampaio started by meeting on the tatami with Milica Cvisic from Serbia who eliminated in just 00’38” by ippon.
Croatia’s opponents followed – Petrunjela Pavic who won by wazari.
Madeleine Malongarepresenting France, was the next judoka who dominated the mat with an ippon in just 00’46”.
In the repechage Patrícia fought against the Englishwoman – Emma Reid and gave in for wazari.
Patricia Sampaio occupied seventh position in the general classification.
Such Pina in silver and João Fernando in bronze, the other Portuguese highlights of this competition
We remember that (-70Kgs) Tais Pina (PEO – Projeto Esperanças Olímpicas) took the podium to receive the Silver Medal and João Fernando (-81kgs) won the Bronze Medal.

From this Monday the 1st until the 5th of April, the Portuguese judokas will complete an International Internship in Antalya.
