In a statement distributed in Luanda, the Institute announces the readjustment of the price of diesel, from 160 to 200 Kwanzas, within the framework of the government program that plans to gradually remove fuel subsidies by 2025.
Meanwhile, passenger and freight transport associations have already announced the need to increase tariffs, taking into account the impact of the change in the price of diesel on their activity. The cost of living in Angola is expected to increase, taking into account the dependence of many economic operators on fuel in their activities, namely in the agriculture, fishing, industry and hotel and tourism sectors.
The withdrawal of the state subsidy for fuels is part of the progress established between the Angolan Government and the International Monetary Fund with a view to the sustainability of the General State Budget. The Government of Luanda began withdrawing fuel subsidies with the increase in the price of gasoline last year.
