Ohe parents of two five-week-old twins have been accused of beating their two daughters to death, leaving the community where they live in shock. Angelina Belinda Calderon and Fernando Vega, 21 years old, live in Houston, in the US state of Texas.
After their daughters’ deaths, they created a fundraising page, which led many, touched by the situation, to want to help the couple.
The case happened on October 4, 2023 when authorities received an alert for an emergency at the residence where the couple lived. The man reportedly told authorities that he had gone to drop his mother off at work and that when he returned home the girls were unconscious in their crib. They would have remained in the care of their great-grandfather.
However, the community was shocked to discover that it was the parents who had killed the girls in a grotesque attack.
An autopsy performed on the babies’ bodies would discover that the babies had suffered several bruises and fractures, which medical experts suspected were caused by a series of blows with a blunt object.
On April 18, the coroner informed the police of the twins’ cause of death, declaring it a homicide.
