During the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix, Lance Stroll had an eventful race in the VCARB F1 car. Starting from 12th position, he experienced a rollercoaster ride that ended up resulting in a DNF. On lap 26, before the safety car was reactivated, Stroll collided with the rear of Daniel Ricciardo’s VCARB 01, abruptly ending Ricciardo’s race. The incident did not please the head of VCARB.

According to recent statements, if Stroll had not hit Ricciardo, the latter could have finished in the top 10, as he was attacking another driver who was having difficulties with the W15. Unfortunately, Red Bull’s sister team left the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix without scoring any points. Ricciardo’s teammate also exited the race when the Haas car touched his rear tire, causing him to spin.

That race in Shanghai had a significant impact on the constructors’ standings for the Faenza-based team. The Haas driver managed to score a point, leaving them just 2 points behind RB. Despite this setback, the head of VCARB is encouraging his team to focus on the positives.

So far, the VCARB01 has performed better than its competitors from the Haas, Williams, Sauber and Alpine F1 teams. However, the unpredictable nature of the sport means that upcoming races could alter the current standings of the bottom five teams. Haas has been constantly improving and, on a good day, Williams has the potential to achieve impressive results.
