Last Saturday (20) an accident occurred on the set of the film “The Pickup”, the next comedy by actor Eddie Murphy. Two people went to the hospital, one of whom remains hospitalized.

The information comes from the film website Indie Wire, which confirmed the information this Tuesday (23).

The accident

According to sources interviewed, the collision happened when the truck’s steering wheel locked and hit a vehicle carrying some people from the film’s recording team. The main actor was not there at the time and is not among the victims.

The collision happened during the recording of an action scene, however, it was not considered dangerous. Anonymous witnesses said there was no explanation for the event.

According to the Associated Press, “Injuries range from bruises and bruises to broken bones.”

Amazon MGM Studios has not yet formally commented on the accident, nor has it released the true number of those involved. For now, the company’s only statement is that it is investigating the case, and also stated that “The well-being of the entire crew and cast is our priority and we will continue to insist on the industry’s high safety standards during filming.”

Actor Eddie Murphy, who does not have a profile on social media, also did not speak out or give interviews.

The film is directed by Tim Story and features performances by Eddie Murphy, Keke Palmer, Pete Davidson and Eva Longoria. The Pickup does not yet have a release date. The newspaper The Atlanta Constitution confirmed that the recordings would be completed by the middle of the year.
