The victim who died in an accident on BR-277, in Serra de São Luiz do Purunã, on Tuesday night (23), was identified as Aronildo Bueno da Silva. The 53-year-old businessman was in a truck accompanied by his son and a friend, when the vehicle was hit by a roll of paper, weighing approximately one ton.

Aronildo, better known as Pacheco, was heading towards Curitiba, around 10:30 pm, this Tuesday (23), when he suffered the accident. The businessman was in the passenger seat of a Hilux truck. Due to works at km 125, traffic at km 128 was slow.

The truck with the businessman reduced speed, however, a truck that was following close behind was unable to brake. To avoid a pileup with several vehicles, the truck driver threw the truck onto the highway median. However, the paper roll load spread across the highway and one of the volumes fell on top of the truck.

Businessman Pacheco succumbed to his injuries. The son and his friend were rescued with injuries. The truck driver was not seriously injured.
