The group justifies the rise in tissue paper prices in all markets next month with the “strong growth” in production costs, stressing that the pulp price for May “will be the highest ever recorded historically in the sector” .

The Navigator Company announced this Wednesday that will increase the prices of its tissue paper (toilet paper, napkins, kitchen rolls, hand towels, among others) by between 8% and 10% in all markets where it operates, for orders shipped from May onwards. The objective, it says in a statement, is to “mitigate the increase in production costs”.

The pulp and paper producer adds that this decision, which is being communicated to its customers, was taken “following the accelerated reversal of the cycle that has been accentuated since last August 2023, when a very significant increase in production costs, particularly in paper pulpthe main factor in the cost of tissue production”.

As he points out, the international benchmark price index for pulp (short fiber) has risen 65% since August 2023, and last week a new pulp price for May was announced, which will be “the highest ever recorded historically in the sector, representing an additional 10% increase compared to today’s price“, it says.

Navigator further states that “This exceptional measure is essential to guarantee long-term sustainability not only of its business model and financial balance but also of the global supply chain, with its customers and suppliers”.
