“The Navigator Company announced today that it will increase the prices of its tissue papers by between 8 and 10%” in “all markets where it operates, for shipments from May 2024, with the aim of mitigating the increase in costs of production”, he said.

The decision, which is being communicated to its customers, was taken following a very significant increase in production costs that has increased since last August 2023, particularly in paper pulp, which is “the main factor in production costs of `tissue`”.

According to Navigator, “the international pulp price reference index (short fiber) has risen 65% since August 2023”, and “last week, a new pulp price was announced for May, which will be the highest price ever seen historically in the sector, representing an additional increase of 10% compared to today’s price”, he highlighted.

The group assured that “this exceptional measure is essential to guarantee the long-term sustainability not only of its business model and financial balance but also of the global supply chain, with its customers and suppliers”.

Navigator recorded net profits of 275 million euros in 2023, a 30% reduction compared to 2022, said the group, in a statement published by the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), in February.
